General Event Rules

  1. Code of conduct

    1. By participating in the events, you agree to comply with these rules. You further agree that the Sim Racing Series are for entertainment purposes only and you shall have no legal recourse whatsoever against the host, the Administrators, Race stewards, other participants, iRacing, Sponsors, or any other party associated in any way with the Sim Racing Series and its events.

    2. Unsportsmanlike conduct by drivers will not be tolerated. An appropriate penalty will be issued.

    3. Verbal or physical abuse of anyone will not be tolerated. Violator may be asked to leave the establishment. Violator may also be disqualified or banned from future races. 

 

  1. Safety concern

    1. Axon Driver Solutions’ motion driving simulators may not be suitable for everyone. People who have following conditions: Pregnant, under chemical influence (Advil, alcohol, drug, cannabis etc.), heart condition, injury, other pre-existing medical condition, are not suitable to operate. Please consult your physician or doctor if you have any health concerns before using our simulator.

    2. Axon Driver Solutions does not recommend children under the age of twelve (12) operate our driving simulator without parental supervision. Parent need to acknowledge that simulator systems are powerful machineries and may be harmful to your children. Axon Driver Solutions is not responsible for participants’ physical limitation.

    3. User of simulator agrees to evaluate and bear all risks associated with the use of Axon Driver Solutions’ motion driving simulator for themselves. 

    4. Axon Driver Solutions is in no way responsible for any damage or lost of any kind arising from the use of its simulators system. User hereby agrees not to hold Axon Driver Solutions responsible for any or all damage or lost of any kind arising from use of its motion driving simulator system including but not limited to direct or indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use of its motion driving simulator system.

 

  1. Entry fee

    1. All competition entry fee is exclusively waived for members. This discount does not apply to their non-member teammates, or other participants.

    2. The admission fee is non-refundable. Axon Driver Solutions are not responsible for any cancellation due to unexpected events, such as weather, machine failure or lack of attendance. Admission Fee will not be refunded to participants who forfeit the race.


  2. Event attendance:

    1. Minimum participant requirement will be 7 people for each race weekend or 3 teams for team event. If there are less than 7 participants (counted by total number of qualified members and paid participants) 2 days prior to the event, the race will be cancelled and prize will not be issued. Paid participants may also request for unofficial races during the event time

 

  1. Registration

    1. Seat choice is first come, first serve, as soon as registration begins.

 

  1. Communication

    1. Driver’s meeting is mandatory for all participants. For people who are attending offsite must join in the Discord channel for Driver’s meeting.

    2. Be respectful when you’re on discord. Calling out any drivers is strictly prohibited. This will result in an instant ban or disqualification. 

    3. Steward room is for any dispute. If you have anything wants to talk to steward. Please type it in. We will either announce our decision or we will contact you privately.  

    4. Each team will have its own discord channel. You will not be able to join other teams’ channels unless you have granted the consent from the other team.

    5. All teams must have its own racing number and they must submit both their racing numbers and team members before the event starts. 

    6. Everyone must change their nickname for the server to the format of: #*** (racing number) Firstname Lastname

    7. If not necessary admin will not go into your team room, unless urgent message or the team consistently ignoring announcement messages

    8. Once in the race, we prefer everyone stay on discord or having teammate to be on discord. 

    9. It will be your own responsibility to receive all announcement through the announcement channel

 

  1. Practice

    1. Members are allowed to do as much practice as possible. An open practice section may be opened for all participants before the event

 

  1. Timing and scoring

    1. Events may be timed to the nearest one-thousandth (0.001) of a second automatically by simulation softwares.

    2. Off-track, short-cutting or unsafe action may incur penalty or disqualification in timing for Qualify Section or in Race Section. These actions are automatically monitored and counted by simulation software and Stewards will not reverse or appeal software’s decision on any penalty or disqualification.

    3. Official result may be posted by class and position in class in order of best time, and must include the driver’s name (first and last), affiliation, corrected time and penalty time of each run. The result will be posted within two (2) days after the event. If an appeal has been filed, preliminary results must also be posted within two (2) days after the event. Final official results must be posted within two (2) days after settlement of the appeal. 

 

  1. Racing Rules

    1. Standard iRacing road racing rules will apply at all times unless otherwise stated in this rule book.

    2. In an overtaking situation, it is the overtaking driver’s responsibility to complete a safe pass. Drivers being overtaken have a responsibility to drive predictably and to leave racing room when an overtaking driver presents themselves alongside.

    3. Blocking is prohibited. The leading driver is allowed to run a defensive line. The leading driver is permitted one defensive move, but may not make a subsequent move in response to an overtaking driver’s further attempt to pass.

    4. If you choose to dive-bomb a driver in order to make a pass, regardless of which class car, you should be certain that it can be done without incident. Each avoidable incident under these conditions may be reviewed by the Stewards during the race and by the Admins after the race, and if deemed an avoidable contact incident, may result in in-race penalties and/or a loss of championship points.

    5. Contact that results in significant damage to another vehicle resulting in a loss of position for the other driver may be reviewed by the Stewards during the race and by the Admins after the race, and if deemed an avoidable contact incident, may result in in-race penalties and/or a loss of points.

    6. A driver coming out of the pits has the right to race oncoming cars to the next corner but must maintain their line from the exit of the pits through the corner and cannot swerve in front of oncoming cars. Cars approaching the end of pit lane when another car is exiting must leave room for the exiting car to safely rejoin the racing surface. Drivers in both situations should be mindful of the inter-class racing rules and avoid interrupting an in-class battle when reasonably possible.

    7. Connection problems may arise during qualifying or a race. This is typically evidenced in iRacing by a car blinking, bouncing, or completely disappearing for several seconds. The driver with a bad connection often does not know other drivers are having a hard time seeing them. However, repeated and frequent blinking, jumping or disappearances that make it difficult for other drivers to safely race in close proximity to the car should be politely reported by radio to the driver and Race steward. A driver who has been informed they are having such connection problems should take reasonable measures to avoid inadvertent contact with other drivers (including due to “netcode”) such as by leaving extra racing room or facilitating a safe pass. Drivers who have serious connection problems may be asked by the Stewards to retire from the race until the connection problem is fixed or may be black flagged. Drivers who ignore this warning and continue to race may be removed. It is a violation of these rules to falsely report another car as having connection problems.

    8. Losses of connections during a race are treated as mechanical failures. Driver may log back into the race session and rejoin the race in a safe manner if they are able to do so. If a team is not able to complete at least 15% of the race they will not be eligible for points for that event, absent extenuating circumstances. Example the Team was taken out of the race on lap2, or connection problems with reasonable attempts to rejoin. (drivers would need to petition the Admins to get points in these circumstances).

    9. Blue Flag Etiquette – Same Class: Drivers who are displayed the blue flag by iRacing signifying the approach of a car in the same class about to lap the driver are expected to allow the overtaking car or cars to make the pass in a reasonable amount of time and in a safe manner so as to not interfere with battles between the overtaking in-class cars. This rule is not intended to prohibit a driver whose pace is comparable to the leaders from making a reasonable effort to stay on the lead lap, however, they may not do so utilizing prohibited techniques (e.g. blocking). The race Stewards may issue in-race rulings directing a driver to give away when a problem arises.

    10. Drivers are responsible for safety and take extra caution when they are re-entering the track. Penalty may be served if drivers cause any incident.

    11. Jump-starts will result in a black flag automatically generated by the system. It is the driver’s responsibility to pay extra attention to any of the penalties they may have displayed on the screen. Failure to abide in a timely manner will result in automatic disqualification by the system, which will not be overturned by the steward.

 

  1. Flag

    1. You should understand what each flag means and how iRacing deploys them

    2. Green Flag – Indicates the start of a race, clear track condition, and/or the cancellation of a previous flag condition

    3. White Flag – When displayed at start/finish line, indicates the start of the last lap and will be displayed to the leader first and then to the remainder of the competitors. 

    4. Checkered Flag, indicates the end of a session, warm-up period, or end of the race.

    5. Blue Flag (blue with diagonal yellow stripe). Indicates faster cars are approaching. This flag is informational only. In all cases, it is the responsibility of the faster car to safely overtake the slower car. It is strongly recommended that a slower car being lapped make every reasonable effort to facilitate a safe pass.

    6. Black Flag. When displayed furled, it indicates a warning from Race Control and may require action, such as slowing on course, to avoid an in-sesion penalty. Black flags will be given out by iRacing and by Stewards. Failure to abide by the black flag will result in removal from the server.

    7. Yellow Flag. When displayed locally, it indicates a hazard ahead, possibly a car spun or stopped on or off the racing surface. Drivers should use care and be extra vigilant until the local yellow is gone.

 

  1. Penalty:
    All participants shall be subject to control by Axon Driver Solutions, and all appointed officials of the event. This Section provides the penalties for violation of the Race Rules and the Supplementary Regulations.

    1. BREACH OF THE RULES
      In addition to any other offenses or violations of specific rules each of the following shall be deemed a breach of the Race Rules.

  • Bribery or attempt to bribe anyone connected with the event; and the solicitation of, acceptance of, or offer to accept, a bribe.

  • Any fraudulent proceeding or act prejudicial to the interests of the Axon Driver Solutions or of car competition generally.

  • Reckless or dangerous driving, either on course or in the pits and paddock.

  • Failure to obey a direction or order of an official.

  • Refusing to cooperate with, interfering with, or obstructing the actions of the Chief Steward or other officials

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct.

  • Physical or verbal violence toward any other participants or spectators at the event.

  • Drivers who have a blue flag and are blocking traffic behind for 3 or more consecutive sessions.

  1. WHO MAY BE PENALIZED

Any organizer, entrant, driver, crew member, official, worker or guest of the
above, or Axon Driver Solutions member may be penalized. If a car is found to be in violation of a rule and the protest is upheld, the penalty imposed on the protested driver will be applied equally to all drivers of the car in that category even if they were not specifically named in the protest.

  1. IMPOSITION OF PENALTIES 

Penalties The penalties in increasing order of severity are as follows: 

  1. Time or Position Penalties expressed as addition of time or loss of finishing position may be imposed. 

  2. Disqualification from Competition Disqualification from competition may be imposed on an entrant, driver, or car. 

  3. Suspension of Axon Driver Solutions competition privileges may be imposed. The suspension prohibits the individual(s) from entering any Axon Driver Solutions event until such time such time as it is lifted. 

Race steward(s) will be monitoring the race. For any incident, on and off the track, race steward will have the final decision regarding to any penalty or disqualification. 

  1. Any complaints, disputes, protest, questions, or problems must be directed, by the Racers, to the Race Director or steward immediately. No result will be changed after the next round begins or 30 minutes after the race ends.

 

  1. Axon Driver Solutions will establish the race event procedures; starting positions, length, frequency and administration of all events and programs. When their decision will be final and binding. Participants agree that the race may be shortened or extended due to time allotted or special circumstances.

 

  1. Use of food or and liquid are prohibited near any simulator at all times.

 

  1. Axon Driver Solutions will reserve the right of final decision.

Registration & Practice

  • Registration begins at 7:30PM

  • Practice Server will be available until 7:45 PM

Qualifying

  • 10 Minutes’ qualifying time in the public server

  • Qualifying begins at 8:00 PM

Race

 

  • Start position will be determined from qualifying. In events with no qualifying, the grid will be random

  • 50 mins race, 1 mandatory pit stop
